Since owning The Poplars there has been lots of subtle changes. The most important is that we have completed our bathroom refurbishment programme.
It takes time and I am trying to be fair so have completed one on each floor so far. This not only keeps our hard working housekeepers happy but will hopefully show guests that I am not just doing the easy ground floor rooms.
Most of the rooms have been redecorated in some form or other over the past year and they have all been given new soft furnishings, better hospitality trays and black out curtains. I have been gradually swapping the lighting over to LED and am experimenting with some new sensor lighting in the corridors and hallways.
As with all refurbishments it will only be successful if you choose the right products and suppliers.
We are fortunate in this area to have a great choice and I would like to extend a special thank you to some of the companies that I have used who have been very patient with me:
Kingsley Plumbers – all the guys there are knowledgeable, professional and have been great. Ryan in particular has been brilliant in getting me what I need in quick sharp time – much appreciated.
IOS Lighting in Kingsthorpe – Fenton and Dawn have such beautiful lights, it’s just a shame that I don’t have higher ceilings. The LED lighting around the hotel is wonderful as well as energy saving.
Tile Choice – Far too many to choose from but thanks to Liam, the new bathrooms are looking more contemporary and bright, I am really impressed.
Carpet Supacentre in Northampton – everyone is so helpful, I will keep coming back. Great non slip flooring for bathrooms and even loading my car for me….priceless.
