Introduction
The Poplars is a very old property, the main part being over 300 years old. It is made up of 3 stone cottages along with a newer part to the rear in the outside Courtyard. It has been a hostelry for over 130 years. The stone walls are covered with Virginia Creeper which gives the outside character and stands out making us easy to find! The Poplars is an established business in Moulton and well known to the local community.
- There is a ground floor section of 4 rooms, called Courtyard or Ground Floor rooms, 3 of which have doors direct from the car park. These are our largest rooms, with larger en suites. Most of our guests with mobility difficulties find these rooms most suitable. There are steps in to these rooms and also in to the showers.
- There is no lift at The Poplars.
- In the main part of the building there are 7 rooms on the first floor, and 5 rooms on the second floor. The ceilings in the hallways are low on the second floor and some rooms have low eaves.
- The hotel is on a slight slope, with 4 steps down to the reception. The reception lounge, guest lounge and dining room are all on the ground floor.
- There are no ground floor public toilets.
- All our rooms are slightly different, with different measurements to the rooms and en suites, access to the first floor is via a wide staircase with handrails both sides. Access to the second floor is also via a wide staircase but with handrail on one side only.
- We can try to assist with luggage to both floors.
